Websites.
Part of what your taxes pay for is the operation of your State
Government. When it's time to start a business, why not contact your
State's Business Center (links below) to see what services they may
offer to help you with your business? Some States provide as little as
basic information about how to pay your new business taxes and comply
with State laws regarding doing business. Other States provide special
programs to assist special types of businesses or business owners,
special help getting State contracts, and may even offer special
incentive programs.
Either way, the State office for the State you live is a good place to
start once you're sure you want to pursue starting your own business. If
nothing else, it will help you understand how to pay any new taxes your
new business will be liable for.
